Jlrs. Eva C Wilcox, the post-master,
complains of being considerably annoyed
oi late by children aud other persona
constantly ringing up tho post ofllcu and
iuqulrlug if thu mail Is iu, has the mall
been distributed, has tho mall closed,
etc, and other questions that cau be
answered by consulting thu timetables
that an published for the benefit of tho
publlo generally. Mrs Wilcox desired
that we submit u few facts for the con
sideration of those who bavo been in the
habit of constuntly ringing the post-ofllce
for such Information. Tho following
will be useful to those who deslro to
becomo posted In these matters: The
mall arrives from the south at 11:85 a m
and 7pm and Is distributed as soon as
It reaches thu ofllce. The mail closes
for thu south bound trains at 8:15 a m
and 8:03 p in, Heretofore children com
ing out of school lit noon, have also given
tho postmaster considerable annoyance
by flocking luto thu office and asklug
for mail that has beeu previously called
for by their parents. Sometimes three
aud four children of thu same family
call four and live times a day for mail
that has goue out early In tho day. It
svems but a habit and should bu discour
aged. The post-office department has
Issued an order furblddlng postmasters
to allow school children to thus throng
the office and ask for mall. Often im
portant Utters are lost by trusting them
to the care of small children.
