FIRE DESTROYS
OLD MANS HOME
Home and Furnishings Consumed
by Fire Saturday
Saturday afternon about four oclock
a fire alarm was sent in from Fourth
ward to the effect that the home of
Wm Evans was on fire The fire de
partment were on the spot in a hurry
but were unable to reach the fire with
the hose on account of the nearest hyd
rant being three blocks away They i
worked carrying water from the ditch I
but the fire had a good start and with
a high wind blowing it was impossible
to stop it before it had consumed the
house with all its contents
Mr Evans is a poor man and over 91
J years of age For this reason a collcc

Mrs Celia Thomas Walker of
f Hailey Idaho Dies
Funeral services were held in the
Third ward meeting house Sunday
afternoon over the remains of Mrs
Celia Thomas Walker the beloved
wife of E D Walker of Halley Idaho
wHo died of pneumonia at her home in
that city on Wednesday last at the
age of only nineteen yoarr The re
mains were brought here for burial
