Although thu candidacy of Mr. Wat
tls was strongly urged at the time of
tho Republican national delegate con
vention In Price, several months ago,
active work toward his nomination
was not started until tho past week.
Even without that effort, however, tho
Wattls campaign gained an Impetus
throughout the state which assured
strong support and now his support
ers say there Is no doubt of his se
lection. Weber county Hepubllctins, through
the Weber county committee, have
given unanimous endorsement to Mr.
Wattls for nomination as governor,
having passed tho following resolution

31 :

of Weber county wishes to call the
attention of the members of tho party
In this county and state to tho fact
that Utoh Is confronted with financial,
Industrial and political problems of
the gravest character. We feel that
for the office of governor during tho

of proved Integrity and patriotism,
and one possessing business experi
ence and administrative capacity of
the best order.
"We assert that Weber county has
such a man In tho person of William

delegates who will work untiringly,
making use of every honorable politi
cal expedient to bring about his nom
ination." Mr. Wattls' supporters offers a can
