Sowles gave a luncheon Thursday In honor of Miss Coral Wilcox of Spokane. 4 C Mrs. Gustavo Luelwltz of Spokane arrived In tho city Saturday and will spend the holidays with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. H. Miller Tuesday night at tho First Congregational church was attended by upwards of 300 Invited guests and was tho social event of tho week. The quests .were received during the early nart of the evening by tho host and hostess, tho room on tho west end of the church having been prepared for tho occnslon. Tho church was bril liant with flowers, and tho east parlor was tastefully arranged with rugs, di vans, settees and tapestries. Flowers were used there in profusion nlso. Two small rooms on the south were fitted up for dining rooms. After tho mu sical programme, a buffet supper was served In theso rooms. Mrs. Miller, whllo claiming only to bo nn amateur Tierformor on tho organ, does work that professionals might bo proud of. Her performance Tuesday night was most deservedly applauded by enthu siastic and delighted friends. J Mrs. Walter Fitch and tho Misses Fitch entertained at a reception lea in honor of Mrs. C. H. Ahmand of London, England, who is their guest. Tuesday afternoon. The reception was a brilliant one, and between tho hours of 4 and C o'clock moro than 100 friends called. Mr. and Mrs. Nelson Story of Bozo man, Mont., who have been the guests of Dr. and Mrs. H. N. Mayo, havo re turned to their home. Mrs. WItcher Jones has returned from Virginia, where she spent tho summer and autumn with friends. Miss Winnie Rhoades is tho guest of Miss Mary Smedloy.
