has deserted her and asks the court
to grant her a diverge the custody of
two minor children and S25 per month
as alimony

grounds of desertion and failure to

i with her story of marital hardships
and charges her husband with cruel

Of MRSI ISEDOR
Although two years have passed
readers of the Examiner will remem
ber the death by suicide of Mr Iscdor
a clothing merchant of this city and
the subsequent deplorable scandal In
volving the decedents wife
It was rumored at the time that
Mrs Iscdor had driven her husband
from tho home a short time previous
I to his death The story to tho detri
ment of Mrs Isedor gained consider
able circulation but the woman mad
no attompt to refute It preferring
rather to bear the disgrace until such
time as tho truth of her Innocence
would inako Itself known other than
I from her own tongue Now she has
decided to tell the public her side of
the story and she has sent a com I
munication to the 1Ximlncr slating
that she was nut the one to blame fur
I
I the affair referred to in the minors
I Part of her vindication reads I
i was very much wronged bj the im
pre slon that I drove my husband
I from our home shortly before his
I death My husband was persecuted
by a son of a citizen of whom Mr
f Iscdor had borrowed mono under
false pretenses My husband would
have been persecuted by many more

people had he not committed suicide
I When the city attorney called at our
I home to serve papers on my husband
I he was not at home and the papers
I wore given to me Late that evening
when I gave the papers to my hus
I band and asked him how much money
ho owed he refused to toll me re
I plying that It was none of tny busi
ness I entreated him to tell mo aid
I offered to mortgage m > home to set
tle his debts He told me that he
would pay off every cent that he
owed and he did so by committing
suicide For his sake I bore tho dis
grace which the many false rumors
I cruised but at this late date I hopo
this explanation will bo sufficient to
convince my friends that It was
I through no fault or Illtreatment that

The notorious Susie Johnson and
a colored pal from Salt Lake were
soon gatheiqd in and mode to don
the hat before the victim of the rob
bery but they did not quite resemble
the impression that he had formed
of the one who robbed him Both
women declared however that the
lat belonged to a woman friend

locked up at the pollco station last
evening following a controversy with
Ralph OShea driver of a public auto
mobile and several erstwhile friends
of Pierce
It seems thai Pierce engaged
OShea to take him out for a spin
and invited three other frionds to
accompany him The agreement was
for an hours run
