ping of sheep In surrounding states
when thoee sheep arc destined to
trail or are for consignment Into
Utah
A misunderstanding has arisen
among somo of tho sheepman of Ida
ho the ImproMBlon having gained cur
rency that the sheepmen art no long
ci required to dip sheep that are des
UD id to enter Utah
The board of shoop commissioners
Issued an order last September to the
effect that all Idaho sheep consigned
or trailed to Utah must be dipped be
foro their arrival In this state and
that tho sheep must be accompanied
by a certificate from either a state or
a federal Inspector showing that they
have boon dipped
Tho rule was niodlflod later permit
ting shippers or trailers to present an
affidavit from the owner and corral
maator stating that the sheep had
been properly dipped or permitting
tho sheepmen to ship or trail their I
sheep to this slate and to dtp imme
diately Alter their arrival here
This modification WaA entered by
reason of the fact that Inspectors
were unusually busy and could not
Ixi reached in many cases without
great expense to the sheepmen It
was to cut down that expense to the
sheepmen that the modification was
made
In view of tho fact that the hoard
is rigorous in Us enforcement of the
rule requiring the dipping of all shoep
In this state it considered It no more
than right that the Idaho abeeplnn
who use the Utah range should be
compelled to take the same means of
protecting their stock and all other
took on the range from disease
