THE CHURCH AND MODERN IN

On last Sunday evening all the
unions of Ogden were invited to at I
tend the various churches to listen toI
especially prepared programs of music
nnd speaking There were perhaps
five per cent of our membership pres
ent not a very flattering attendance
to be sure And this

tendance Tho ministers made every
effort to Induce the union men to come
They did their part anil tried In every
I legitimate way to pave he way to a
closer Xolatlonshlp between the
church and the union and the union
people did not respond I Is a sad
commentary on unionism when we al
low petty differences spite or unbe
liefs to act as < wedge keeping apart

common endthe uplifting and tho
betterment of humanity in general
It is true that the church has in times
gone by misunderstood us and It is
just as true that we have misunder
stood tho church Now are we as i
willing to admit our faults as the

has come more than half way to meet
us While many of us may not believe
