Death, of John Fritsch.
. PETALUMA, June 1.— John Fritsch, one
of the oldest citizens of Petaluma, died
this morning after a long illness. The de
ceased was one of the pioneers of Sonoma
County, coming; to California in June,
1&52, in company with William Zartman.
After a few months, spent In mining they
came to Petaluma and under the firm
name of Fritsch & Zartman engaged In
the blacksmithing business on Main
street, i where the Fritsch & Zartman
brick block now stands. Fritsch was a
charter member of Petaluma Lodge No.
30, Independent Order of Odd "Fellows, un
der whose auspices he will be burled
