EUREKA, Nov. 3.—Ten days out from Coquille
rivt-r and taking Wftier through seams which
wire opeaed when, it is believed, it struck upon
Cottinie river bar while crossing out. the steam
"'•hOoii.T Oregon arrived oarly this afternoon to
secure a euppl." of gasoline, with which its water
pumps are operated. Several days ago the gsso
lino supply gave nut. and it became necessary
for the crow to man the pumps. When the meti
became exhausted and wore uo longer able to
krep the Oregon free from water it put in here
to await order* from the owners in San Fran
cisco. Tills afternoon a supply of gasoline was
secured, and the pumps have since been In con
stant operation In order to prevent the steamer
from becoming waterlogged. From the rate at
which tlie water is eaid to be entering the hold
it is evident that the Oregon was severely
strained. A cargo of 500,000 feet of lumber for
San Francisco firms is on board.
Llghthouwe tender Mailrona entered port this
arternoon after having repaired a number of buoys
oufMde the harbor.
Freight, mall and passengers arrived from
Snri Francisco this afternoon by the steamer
Phoenix.
Carrying a Opacity cargo, the steamer Welles-
Icy departed early this morning for Snn Pedro.
The WVllesley wan followed out by the San Pedro,
also with lumber for southern California points.
With freight, mail and passeDgers. the steamer
City of Topcka departed this afternoon for San
Frnneisoo.
With ltfo.ooo feet of lumber and a quantity of
shingles fur transshipment, the steamer Anrelia
departed this pfternoon for Portland.
Steamer Katharine departed this afternoon for
San Francisco with a lumber cargo.
