On Wednesday night last, while
quietly sleeping at our homo, a strain
of sweet music roused us from the
embraces of Morpheus. The Glee
Club treated us to ono of their fiuest
serenades, for which wc tender thanks.
Under tho leadership of Prof. Berg,
the gentlemen who compose this Club
have attained a wonderful proficiency,
and crc long Orangeburg will be able
to boast of as line a brass band as
there is the interior of the Slate.

"We have been requested by the
friends of this Institution to priut the
report ol the Legislative Committee
appointed to investigate into and re
port upon its management. As we
have no bias in the matter wc should
. hcerfully comply with said request
in this issue, but as the only copy of
the report which was in our posses
sion has been mislaid, we shall not be
able to lay it before our n ailers be
fore our next issue. "We would state
in the meantime that the report ex
onerates Dr. Webster, the former
Sic refary of the College, from any

plication of ihc Agricultural College

but it was not Cain. 1 hope this will

I stand by my friends, however,
and intend to do nil I can in favor ol
the rights of the people in the estab
