A GOOD AVVOINTMUST?
Tbe Governor has re-appointe 1 A .
F. Browning ISsrt., to the o.'-lice of
Trial Justice. The appoininicnt has
given complete satisfaction to the
Governor's friends, and w ill mollify
several who seemed ollbndcd because
of Browning's uncalled lor removal.
"We littst now that matters will
drift along smoothly.
The Billiard .Saloon is the place to
resort for fancy summer drinks. Mr.
Webb Hull knows exactly how to fix
them up, and can please the most
fastidious Bacchanal hin. Iiis wines
whiskeys, brandies, cordials, ales, ole.,
arc good enough for Dom Pedro, and
wc doubt not that if that individual
could be here thcVc wann opting
days that he would be found constant
ly at the Billiard Saloon. Webb's
tobaccc and cigars arc also very fine,
and are purchased extensively by
those wjio are fond of the weed put
up in proper shape.
Our neighbor got oil" last week
what seemed to him a joke on a gentle
man who had the misfortune to meet
with an accident during the lato fire
parade. We witnessed the fall alluded
to but failed to sec any fun about it.
There never is any fun connected with
falls in the Court House Square, as our
neighbor is abundantly able to testify,
lie bad a fall once close by the Pro
bate Judgo's office which looked like
anything but a joke to ns, and wo
were of the opinion that he would do
nothing to exhume from out the past
the excited ami unpleasant memories
of that almost fatal day. It is said
that jokes break no bones, but if wo
remember correctly the joke of that
day came very near breaking an edi
tor. So much for the present.
