On last Friday night our much
esteemed fellow townsman Mr. W.
II. Giradcau, met with one of the
sadest misfortunes that attends man
in this lifo in the loss of his most esti
mable lady. She had been sick but

descriptions. The name of Uncle
John Bobinson is now "a houscho'd
word,'' and so deservedly popular
with the public that wc need say no
more than to give tho date when he
will bo in Orangcburg. His great
exhibition will be here on Nov. 22,
The beautiful cold mornings will
soon come when lying in bed will be
easier than getting up and going to
market.
