ardently attached to tbo Union of the States under
the Constitution of the United States; that we deny
the right of aay State to secede, and hold that all
attempts at secession are null and voldf that allthe
States are now States of this Union, ai before the
rebellion, aad wo deny tbo power of the Oenerat
Government, under the Constitution, to delude a
State from tbo Union or to govern It as a Territory.

Integrity, patriotism, and statesmantbtp of Presi
dent Jon so Is undiminished, and we cordially
approve the general policy of hie administration.

Congress of July, 1891, declaring tho object of the
war on onr part to bo tho defence and maintenance
of the supremacy of the Constitution and the pre
Miration of tbe Union, with tbo dignity, equality,
and rights of the several States unimpaired.

eago platform of 1880, and as quoted by the late
