The Temperance JIketino To-Pay. The
temperance organisations of thli city have been
bo illy engaged fir leveral dayi put In making
preparation for the grand procession and man
meeting wbloh will take place In the Capitol square,
eommeoolng at three o'clock tbli afternoon.
Tbe proceeelon, which will be composed of twenty
two different organlistloni, will no doubt be a very
excellent affair. Tbe line of march will be from
Lafayette Square down Pennsylvania avenue to tbe
Capitol grounds where addrerres will be delivered
by Senator Patterson, of New Hampibhe, Hon. W.
Preston, of Maryland and others.

partment! granting those clerks who desired to par
ticipate In the procession leaves of absence after 12

Overton and Jemes Smith, two colored men, were
arrested on Saturday by Officer Grant, of tbe Sec
ond ward, on a charge of highway robbery. It
appeared In evidence 'before Justice Morsel) that
the two men met another colored man, named
ek Wilson Pead, on Tenth street, about two weeks
ago, and Overton grabbed hli watoh from his hand
Pead sunceeded in getting bli watch back by
catching Overton by a sore Soger They were held
to bail to answer the charge at court Overton and
Smith, with a man named John Richmond, were
arretted on Friday on suspicion of stealing two
watohei from Daniel W, Bales, a Jeweler on the
Avenue. The evidence not being sufficient to
hold them they were dlimlssed.

Bask Ball. To-morrow afternoon there
will be a match game of bate ball between the Key
stone Club, of Philadelphia, and tbe National Club,

will be a match game between the Keystone and
Union, and on Thursday between the Keystone and
Jefferson The games will be very Interesting, and
do doubt be witnessed by many persons.

CommIfloners was held at Police Headquarters,
on Tenth street. The annual report for the year
ending September 10, 1800, was adopted, and will
