SOCIAL GATHERINGS i Mrs. Otto Weber was given a pleas ant surprise Sunday by about twenty five friends and neighbors who called at tsie Weber home on the Union pike and spent an enjoyable day. Dinner was served at noon) picnic fashion. Little Miss Evelyn Huntington cele brated her eighth birthday anniver Ifij Saturday afternoon when she en Jtsrtalned twelve of her little friends at her home, 603 South thirteenth street. The house was decorated with 'flowers and ferns. Potted plants were conspicuous In the room. The hours were spent socially and with games and music, ard dancing featured the afternoon. Late in the afternoon a luncheon was served. The table was prettily appointed. At either end were birthday cakes surrounded by eight candles. In the center was a minia ture log cabin made of fairy sticks. The apartment was lighted by candles. Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Harrison gave a dinner, Sunday, in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Will Gist of Lake City, Iowa, who are here for a short stay with their many friends.
