A delightful birthday party was given Friday evening by Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Hawkins, of Middleboro, for the pleasure of their daughter, Mildred, whose tenth birthday it was, ana ior Miss Gertrude Urton, who leaves soon for residence in Richmond. A small family reunion was held at the home of Thomas J. Addleman, of Middleboro, Friday evening in honor of his seventieth birthday anniver sary. A very interesting and entertain ing meeting of the Hiawatha Social and Literary society was held Friday afternoon at the home of Mrs. Ed ward Stigleman on North Fourteenth street. Roll call was answered with patriotic quotations, and following the regular business, current events were given by Mrs. Clara Richards, and readings by Mrs. Ella Crocker.
