VENIRES FOR PREBLE JURIES ARE DRAWN; 8 WOMEN ARE CHOSEN EATON. Ohio,-Dec. 12. Venires for the grand and petit juries for the January term of. common pleas court were drawn Monday from the jury wheel by Sheriff George Jones and CIerk3 of Courts V.O. Rookstool, in the presence of Judge A. C. Risinger. Names of two women were drawn oh the grand jury and six on the petit jury. The grand jury " will convene Monday, Jan. 8, at 10 a. m., while the petit jury is subject to call of the court. The grand jury: Washington town ship, Elijah J. Dine, John A. Trial of a damage suit for $8,064, filed by Victor H. Stanford and Albert Hidy, owners of the Ashland Poultry farm, against M. C. Eolton and David Abraham, owners of the A. B. C. Poul try farm, Preble county,' opened Mon day in common plsas court befor Judge A. C. Risinger an! a jury. Tt is expected the trial will last three or four days. Alleged violation of a contract was basis for the suit. Winners of awards in an egg dis play at the show of the Western Ohio Poultry Fanciers' club last week have just been announced The competition was confined to Preble county. C. E. Wachtel, Ingomar, president and sec retaiy of the fanciers' club, won first on white-shell eggs, with White Leg horn, and first on brown-shell eggs, with Barred Rock. H. C. Duvall. Eaton, won second on brown shell, with Rhode Island Red, and Frank Waggonrodt, Eaton, won second on white shell, with White Leghorn. County Agricultuial Agent E. D. Tur ner judged the exhibit and made th awards. , Pleading guilty:to violating the state game laws, for destroying a 'coon's den, Karl VanDoren of Eaton, J. W. Mount castle and Arthur H. Davis, living north of Eaton, were fined $23 and casts each in the court of Mayor F. G. Shuey in Camden, according to Bob Nunlist of Eaton, deputy state game protector, who made the arrests. George Neaves and son. living south of Eaton and on the farm where,, the animal's den was destroyed and the 'coon put to death, were fined $100 and costs each for threatening and inter fering with an officer? The son's fine and costs were suspended during good behavior. Neaves and his son were in the party and they allegedly threatened Game Protector Nunlist be fore submitting to arrest. EATON, Ohio, Dec. 12 Earl Old father, 19 years old, of near Peru. Ind., has been released under $500 bonds om the county jail, where he was held several days in default of bail on a charge of stealing an automobile. Fred Gecker, 19 years, old of near Peru, a pal of Oldfather, and charged jointly with him in the theft of the puto, was released several days ago from jail after furnishing $500. bond. It is alleged the two young men stole an automobile from the Haber Auto company of Eaton. The car was recov TPd. It is said thev confessed thMr guilt. Their case will e before the grand jury which meets January S. Motion filed by the Gem City Auto company, of Dayton, in a suit in which it was a party defendant was overruled bv Judge A. C. Risinger in common pleas court. The suit was brousrht by ('. J. VanAusdal against S. A. Kepler. Ownerfhip cf a certain automobile in possession of Kenler was claimed by VanAusdal and also by the Gem City Auto company. The court declared the car was the property of VanAusdal and the auto company sought retrial cf the case. BLOOM INGPORT, Ind. Mr. ana Mrs. James Isenbarger met with an ac cident Sunday evening as they were en route home from Kelley Engles. The car driven by Mr. Isenbarger col lided with a big car, driven by Bob Blanrett's son-in-law, at the road cross ing in Bloomingport. Mr. Isenbarg er's car was overturned breaking the top and windshield and damaging the radiator. Mrs. Isenbarger suffered from shock and cuts on her head and right leg. Mr. Isenbarger escaped with but slight injuries. The other car and its occupants were uninjured. The road crossing at this place is consid-1 ered dangerous as buildings obstruct i the view. Borroughs, a retire! cavalry officer, who died of pneumo nia here was held in the chapel ol the Kaiser's palace this morning. Th eight infantry constituted the guard of honor and the regimental band furnished the music. Major General Henry T. Allen, followed the casket to the vault from the hospital. The pall bearers were Col. Walter T. Bakes, Col. Henry Hosfeld, Col. Henry H. Sheen. Col. William M. Hartfl. Ma jor George E- Peek, Major Frank M. Andrews and Major Ralph Talbot. Col. Burroughs was a native of Hous ton, Tex., and was a noted horseman.
