Gould of the Crookston Lumber com pany returned this afternoon from a business trip to Minnea polis and St. Paul. George Warrick arrived in the city Saturday night from Jenkirs to accept a position at the con fectionery store of I. B. Olson. Mr. Warrick is a nephew of Prof. A. P. Ritchie. W. G. Schroeder yesterday drove out to the power on the Mississippi east of Bemidji, and, with the aid of a civil engineer he completed a number of sur veys contemplated for some time past. Mike Guyer is erecting a dance hall at Nymore and is making ar rangements for holding the open ing ball in the new building some day this week. During the sum mer Mr. Guyer expects to use the hall as a beer garden. You need to prepare your sys tem for the coming hot weather, get your organs to work like clo3k work. Bemidji plant. Mr. and Mrs. Ole Anderson and child, left this morning for Craik, Northwest Territory, near which city Mr. Anderson owns a valuable farm. Mr. and Mrs. Anderson have spent the past month visiting old time friends in Bemidji. Mr. Anderson was formerly proprietor of the Lake shore hotel in this city. Bert Taylor, who has been em ployed as billposter and stage manager by A. T. Wheelock, manager of the Bamidji Opera house, for the past summer, leaves tomorrow morning for Kansas City, Mo., where he will accept a position as advance man for Burke's "Uncle Tom's Cabin" and "Ten Nights in a Bar Room" companies. '^li Four drunks appeared in Judge Pendergast's court this morning and all plead guilty to having im bibed too freely. Sentence was suspended upon one, another was given five days in the county jail, the third was given an option of either leaving the city or serv ing 60 days, while the fourth paid a fine. William Schaffer, a brakeman of Dennison, Ohio, was confined to his bed for several weeks with inflammatory rheumatism. "I used many remedies," he says.
