O'Leary: "Why should not Bemidji have a Fourth of July celebration this year? For sev eral years past the people of the city have gone to other towns to spend the Fourth and a large amount ot money that would have been left in the city has been spent away from home. A united effort to arrange for a celebration should be made at once. Clerks May Hold Meeting. It is planned by a number of members of the local Retail Clerks union to hold a meeting some time this week, at which a resolution will be adopted asking that the stores of the city close early evenings during the sum mer months. Good Time at M. B. A. Dance. The dance given last night by the Modern Brotherhood at the I. O. O F. hall was largely at tended and the occasion was thoroughly enjoyed by those pre sent. The music was good and the supper served by the ladies was excellent. Chas. SAYposition Dr. R. B. Foster: "I seems to me that the ordinance govern ing the promiscuous scattering of paper and other rubbish on the streets should be enforced. Along the lake shore there are a number of residents who throw waste paper out into the street and when a wind comes along it is scattered broadcast over the lawns and yards." Binghamton Man in Luck. "Jones of Binghamton" was in town last night, not he who "pays the freight," but John C. Jones, as he registered at the Markham hotel. For a few hours Jones was sad and despondent, and was not afraid to tell his troubles. Later in the day he was the happiest sti anger within our gates, when he came up to the clerk of theStetson's Markham and whispered, I found 'em got 'era down at E. A. Barker's. Now I can eat a good dinner and look forward to smok ing a Wadsworth Bros.' "Chico" afterwards. E. A. Barker says he has not had the "Chicos" in stock very long, but they are al ready making a lot of friends. "Strange how homesick it makes a man to lean over a cigar case and not see a brand that he ever heard of before. That was the way I felt all day, but when I went into E. A. Barker's and saw my old friend, the Wads worth Bros.' "Cbicos,"I knew there was a good smofie com.n^ to yours truly. It only xst cents, but there is no 10c ci^ra that is as good, an I have stool*eel most of them." Beatrice Wood. other women whopraise Lowell Hulett born at Menominee Falls, Wis., July 8th 1849. AMUSEMENTS Manager Wheelock has booked "Uucle Tom's Cabin" for the City Opera house and this popular company will play here tonight. This should be a wel come announcement to patrons of that popular playhouse as well as to the general public that loves this charming old drama. It is a well known fact that the Stetson Company is one of the best that has ever presented this great play, and this season will but add to its popularity with young and old, for it is even better than what it has been, if such a thing could be possible to so good a company. New features have been added and old ones given a belter interpretation. The musi cal part of the program has been greatly increased. It is said to have the heaviest scenic equip ment of any company traveling. A BOON TO SICK WOMEN. After four years of vain endeavor to regain her health by taking other medicines, Miss Beatrice Wood was made a perfectly well woman by taking Wine of Cardui, the most successful menstrual regulator and woman's tonic known to the science of medicine. She took Wine of Cardui and that is what we advise you to do. Will you follow her example and be ft well woman? We could show you letters from 10,000 Wine of Cardui as she praises it. WIN E O CARDU I Ko. 14 Main St., PENSACOLA, FLA., NOV. 20,1903. I had been suffering with irregular, scanty and most painful menstru- ation, and when the periods occurred I was unable to be up and had to stay in bed for a day or two. Nothing I took helped me until I used Wine of Cardui. It proved to be just what I needed. Within two months the serious pam had disappeared, my headaches were less frequent and not so severe and felt very much encouraged, but had to use your medicine for four months before I was entirely well and regular. I have enjoyed the finest health now for eighteen months. I am very regular and have no more pains ana eat and sleep as well as could be desired.
