The pres ent population of Beltrami county is 14314, and the increase is thhs 127 per cent. The Beltrami portion of the original county has had a far greater percentage of growth than the Clearwater portion ])y reason of the fact that the form er was much more sparcely set tled than the latter five years ago, the Clearwater territory be ing the first of the original county to be generally settled and also by reason of the phenommal growth of Bemidji from a popula tion of 2183 to 4327 an increase of nearly 2200. INDIAN KILLED AT BALLCLUB Rumor That Indian Police man Lost His Life From Blow of Hammer. A rumor reached the city this afternoon from Cass Lake to the effect that an Indian policeman was killed at Ball Club yesterday afternoon by Charles Seeley. It said that botfr men were under the influence of liquor, when a quarrel arose and that Seeley hit the Indian on the head with a hammer. No verification of the story could be obtained today. CASES SET FOR OCT.2 DATE OF TRIAL OF PACKERS AND OTHERS CONNECTED WITH BEEF TRUST. GOVERNMENT SURPRISES DEFENDANTS SECRECY OBSERVED IN SERVING SUBPOENAES ON SOME OF THE WITNESSES. Chicago, Aug 14Oct 2 has been announced as trial day for twenty four packers and lawyers and five corpora tions indicted on charges of combin ing in restraint of commerce, accept ing rebates and interfering with gov ernment witnesses Between fifteen and twenty fresh subpoenaes return able on the date named were secretly issued and served by specially de tailed deputy marshals The issuance of the papers came as a surprise to most of the packers. Secrecy was ob served because it was feared that, as in the search for witnesses for the grand 3ury, some of the important witnesses might flee from the country. Although relatively few subpoenaes have yet been served it is believed that between 200 and 300 witnesses will be called from all parts of the United States before the trials have been completed. Assistant Attorney General Oliver Pagin has been in Chicago for some time pushing the preparatory work, aided by Attorney Godman and Spe cial Agent Duncan. When the first case is placed on trial it is probable that there will be a number of addi tional attorneys sent to Chicago from Washington to aid in the case. Each case will necessarily be taken up sep arately. It is probable, therefore, that at least three months will have passed beforg the last, case has been, decided. CuresKidney and B!ad* der Diseases in Every FormMany People Have Kidney Trouble and Do Mot Know It. HOW TO FIND OUT. It is the function of the kidneys to filter and purify the blood which is constantly passing through them. When the kidneys are out of order the other organs are affected immediately and you may have symptons of heart trouble, stomach and liver trouble, and other ailments, which are all owing to the kidneys being weak and out of order. If you are sick Foley's Kidney Cure will strengthen and build up the worn out tissues of the kidneys so they will act properly and the symptons of weakness, heart, stomach and liver trouble will disappear and you will be restored to perfect health. How to Tall If You Have Kidney Trouble. You can easily determine if your kid neys are out of order by setting aside for 24 hours a bottle of the urine passed upon arising. If upon examination it is cloudy or milky or has a brick-dust sed iment or small particles float about in it, your kidneys are diseased and Foley's Kidney Cure should be taken at once. Foley's Kidney Cure is pleasant to take and acts directly upon the parts affected and you begin to feel better at once. It corrects slight disorders in a few days and it has cured many obstinate cases after other treatment had failed. Doctors Said He Would Not Live. Peter Frey, of Woodruff, Pa., writes: "After doctoring for two years with the best physicians Waynesburg, and still getting worse, the doctors advised me if I had any business to attend to I had bet ter attend to it at once, as I could not possibly live another month, as there was no cure for me. Foley's Kidney Cure was recommended to me by a friend, and I immediately sent my son to the store for it and after taking three bottles I be gan to get better and continued to im prove nntil I was entirely well."
