Peter Maule will leave next Saturday for Harbor Beach. Sergeant Eilek, who is manager of the local recruiting office for the U. Snelling to begin his services for "Uncle Samuel." A. J. Abercrombie, cruiser and scaler for the Crookston Lumber. company, came down from Island Lake Saturday and visited in the city with his family until yesterday afternoon. Charles Fisk, who has been chief clerk for Dempsey & Dough erty at Littlefork, came down from the north country Saturday for a brief visit in the city. From here Mr. Fisk will go to Cedar Rapids, Iowa, for a visit of two weeks. Mr. Fisk states that the steel on the Big Falls-International Falls ex tension of the M. & I. has been laid to the bridge across th* Little Fork river, and that the bridge will be completed within the next two weeks, when the work of laying the remainder of the steel to the bound ary will be rushed to completion. Mr. Fisk predicts that the road will be completed and ready for oper ation to International Falls by August 1st.
