Mrs. Mathilda Akerberg passed
away early this morning at the St
Mary's hospital at Duluth, where she
has been for several months. Mrs.
Akerberg was born in Sweden, June
17, 1849, and was sixty-three years,
four months and eighteen days when
she died. She came from Sweden in
1881 and has lived in Minnesotta
ever since, having made her home in
St. Hilaire from 1882 to 1902, when
she moved to Bemidji. She leaves
three children mourn her death,
Gustave Akerberg, who is in the
state of Washington, Mrs. Allen Sot
erberg, who is still in Sweden and
Garfield Akerberg of Bemidji. Gar
field Akerberg will go to Duluth to
night and will bring the body back
to Bemidji for burial. No arrange
ments have as yet been made for the
funeral.

Mrs. J. W. Wilcox, accompanied by
Miss Hazen Campbell, of Mud Lake,
made a business call to the John J.
Miller home last week.
Mr. Jones of near Hinkley, who
bought land last spring, in Seetion
17 of this township, from the Crooks
ton Lumber company, and who has
been stopping here for a few days, at
the home of Mr. John J. Miller, who
will be his nearest neighbor, doing
some clearing on his new farm, pre
paratory to moving here in the
spring, when he will bring with him,
among other things, several good
dairy cows, as his intentions are to
begin farming at once, in good earn
est, "among the stumps."
Mr. Harold McClellan and a friend
visiting him from North Dakota,
"took in" the village of Puposky
Sunday.
Mr. G. Hienze of Bog Lake is in
stalling new heating plants in the
three schools of this township, and
from the present outlook we consider
it high time.
J. J. Miller of Bog Lake spent a
couple of days in Puposky last week
as the guest of his daughter, Mrs.
A. J. Warner.
