The Misses Erickson^ Loken and
Berg took advantage of the school
closing Friday to make it a visiting
day. The cordiallity and kindness of
the Bemidji teachers was fully ap
preciated by the visitors.
Next Friday Dec. 19th the Nymore
school will close for a two weeks va
cation opening again Jan 5th 1914.
This will give both teachers and pu
pils ample time to rest after the stren
uous preparations, which are being
made for the Christmas program.
Miss Hanna Berg will go to her
home in Rush City Minn., by way of
the twin cities where she will stop
off a few days to visit friends and do
some Christmas shopping.
At present the M. and I. restaurant
is quarantined for scarlet fever, but
we are pleased to hear that the little

Harvey Pine a well known brake
man on the M. and I. railroad died
,quite unexpectedly at the M. and I.
Hotel Mr. Pine had come in from his
trip a few days earlier with symtoms
of being sick, which soon developed
into scarlet fever. Mr. Pines leaves a
sister Mrs. Voltz, in Mill Park be sides
numerous friends to mourn his loss.
The remains were taken to Iowa for
interment.
iMr. Voltz will act as marshall
while Mr. Jarvis is under quaratine
Dr. Burns of the State Health De
partment was up from the cities to
look over the existing conditions. He
says there is nothing to be alarmed
about.
Mrs. Tim Quinn is sick at her sis
ters, (Mrs. Scott, Mrs. Quinn will stay
here While her husband is at the Hot
Springs.
