SOCIET INTERESTING MEETING The Ladies Missionary society of the Presbyterian church was enter tained at the home of Dr. and Mrs. H. A. Northrop yesterday. The guests were Mesdames Everett, Koors, Brooks, Lahr, Kenfield, Beaver, Web er, Flatner, Olson, Johnson, Essler, McLaughlin, Kirk Brown, Mitchell, Given, Hitchcock, Opsahl, Given-Mc Gee, Corcoran and Warford, Misses K. Corcoran, Ida Brown, Elizabeth Erickson and Rev. L. P. Warford. Mrs. Corcoran, mother of Dr. Northrup, was formerly a mission ary to India and gave a very interest ing talk and showed many relics from India and other foreign countries where she has visited in the exercise of her work. BIRCHMONT DANCE The dance at Birchmont was well attended last evening and was thor oughly enjoyed by all who attended. The Harmony Trio repeated its hit of former evenings and the enthusiastic crowd 3howed its appreciation by en coring the various selections time after time. The musicians were dressed in summer white which gave a pleasing appearance. CIRCLE MEETING The neighborhood circle of Red 4y *Cros workers met at the home of Tars. B. W. Lakin yesterday after noon, elected Mrs. W. E. Dean chair man and completed plans for the fu ture. The circle will meet one day each week at the library. Miss Agnes Strand was called to her home in Duluth Wednesday night on account of her father's death. Smith of White Bear Lake, Minn., arrived last eve ning and will visit Mr. and Mrs. M. S. Milner of this city.
