low WagesNo Men.
As it has been practically impossi
ble for the city engineer and the
street commissioner to hire men at
$2 50 per day, a motion was made by
Alderman Smart to raise the salary
to ?2 75 a day for the next month.
At the end of that period the wages
will be fixed to suit the market price.
John Jenkinson was allowed
$72.50 estimate as- the balance due
him at this time for his worp on the
fill to the new bridge.
The question arose as to when the
fill to the bridge can be payed and
City Engineer Thomas Swinson ad

to travel this morning. The time of
paving the fill will probably be set
at the next meeting.
Charles Dialey was wac granted

In hogs, the Large Yorkshire breed

growing season has had its effect,

he is already breaking and cultivat

To Live Long!
A recipe given by a famous physician
for long life was: "Keep the kidneys in
good order! Try to eliminate thru the
skin and intestines the poisons that other
wise clog the kidneys. Avoid eating meat
as much as possible avoid too much salt,
alcohol, tea. Try a milk and vegetable
dieti Drink plenty of water, and exercise
so you sweatthe skin helps to eliminate
the toxic poisons and uric acid."
For those past middle life, for those
easily recognized symptoms of inflamma
tion, as backache, scalding "water," or
if uric acid in the blood has caused rheu
matism, "rusty" joints, stiffness, get
Anuric at the drug store. This is a
wonderful eliminator of uric acid and was
liscovered by Dr. Pierce ~of Invalids'
Hotel, Buffalo, N. Y. If your druggist
does not keep it send 10 cents to Dr.
Pierce for trial package and you will find
that it is thirty-seven times more potent
than lithia and that it dissolves uric acid
as hot water does sugar.
