Thomas died to-night at 9.23 o'clock. Dur
ing tho day ho rallied and recognized his
friends, and strong hopes were entertained
that he would recover. At S o'clock he had
a relapse, and from that tlmo he grew
weaker, until llfu became extinct.

S. T. D,, Protestant Episcopal bishop of
