but so far we have heard of no enter
tainment of any kind being arrang
ed for these schools.

is holding quite a successful meeting
at Vibbard, in which great interest is
being manifested. It has been guing
on 12 days.
William Kelmell, from the north
part of the county called yesterday to

Logan Kelmell. W e are sorry to bear
that Logan has been in poor health fur
some time, and hope to hear of his re
covery soon.
G. O. Cadman, the advance agent
of Miss Louise Kellogg honored the

Eld. J. W. Harder of Vibbard passed
through the olty on Tuesday last, on
his way home from holding a meeting
at Missouri Valley church, near Or
rick. Great interest was manifested
n the meeting. Fifteen were reclaim
ed, aud five added by confession.
There was a little hang tire in the
Electric light matter last week, as the
house in Chicago that are to furnish
Messrs. Hamacher oi Bro. their plant,
refused to confirm the action of their
alesman, but the matter has all been
arranged aud in less than 30 days you
will sea Electric Lights in Kichmond
This issue closes the sixteenth vol
ume of the Dkhochat or at least tbat
what the numbers show, but It
really should be the tweuty-third
the paper was originally established in
ItSW, and passed through various pha
ses of precarious existence, until es
tablished on a solid basis by the pres
ent proprietor iu 1871).
We are requested to oay tbat the
Christmas tree at the Methodist churcL
next Monday night, will be strictly for
the giving of preseuta to those who
attend that school. The admission fee
will be an apple or a potato. Tbese
articles will be donated to the poor
after the entertainment. Everybody
invited to attend.
The W. C. T. U. reading room
now open aud will be kept open from
early morning until ten o clock at
night, fur the benefit oi the public it
will be a nice, cozy place for those
with spare time on band to spend their
hours. Arrangements have been made
to have the daily newspapers on file.
The room will be in charge of Clar
ence Stone. The books for the room
will be donated aud any person hav
ing good books that tbey are willing
ing to give to aid this valuable enter

now rupidly approaching. The joyful
season is eagerly anticipated by youn,
