Bob Stone. a negro. was hanged

murder Stone killed a guard about a
year ago in an attempt to escape.
Water broke into a mine at Brazil.
Ind.. on Friday. and imprisoned about
fifteen men. The tire department
was called out and all the men were
taken out after very narrow escapes.
Two hundred houses were toroofed
and other property loss entailed by
a gale which swept over Louisville on

William 3. Bryan delivered an ad
dress in New Haven, Conn.. on Sun

the military spirit of the day, saying

present warfare between Japan and

ought to wage, said he. is the warfare
against evil in all its forms.

signal of the New York fire depart
ment, was sounded on Saturday for
a fire that started on Broadway. The
blaze was witnessed by a hundred
thousand persons who thronged the
