The Heir to the Hoorah. True A merit* tin humor and wholesome Western atmosphere are the chief characteristics of Paul Armstrong's new comedy, The Heir to tlo Hoorah," which Ivirke La Shelle will present at the opera house on Wednesday, January 29. The interest of tho play centers in Joe Lacy, the owner of the ''lloorah" mine, who falls in love with a Newport society belle and marries her. Not uii'til it is too late does Joe Lacy learn that, ho has (been married for his woiilIh, and that his uncoutlh manners 011 the one hand and his 'efforts to overcome them on tllie other, are estranging him from both his wife and 'his pals. Laey and his wife drift apart, but (he heir to the "Hoonvh" mine appears in llie person of a baby boy, who brings his parents to^etlnr. Mr. Armstrong's chauncler drawing; is perfect': Ttlie characters are living, breathing Westerner with the customary contempt for the customs of polite^ 'society and of the tenderfoots that are a part of it, in the vernacular ol: tiro West-. The Kastcrn characters that are platted side by s>idc with the ruined so:is of the West are neither impossible nor overdraAvn beyond tho limits of comedy. "'Die Heir to tflie Hoorah1" will be presented here, with the original New \ork production and company with excellent artists. CREDITORS OF WEBB BROTHERS AND COMPANY.
