SERIOUS FIRE AVERTED. inen Room Newberry Hotel Catches Fire From Electric Iron?Discovered in Time. What came near being a very scrus fire on Sunday night was avertI by the watchfulness of the NewTry poliee. About eleven o'clock, Chief J. C. dams, and Policemen II. II. Frankl, and 10. X. OLD TOWN REBUILT. I uthern to Build New Depot?Rcid and Chapman Have New Ginnery. The August freshet washed away e depot and the store of Reid and laptnan at Old Town but the new tinery which was being built at that ace, while damaged, was not washed ray. A. Livingston Loses His < Home by Fir??No Insurance. i f Mr. Geo. A. Livingston who lives <1 near Pomaria had the misfortune to i- lose his dwelling house and his house- < hold effects by fire on last Sunday ! e morning about 8 o'clock. i The fire originated from a defees tive stove flue. 8 Mr. Livingston saved practically 11 nothing and besides the loss of his ' dwelling lost his clothing for himself and family and all the provisions e ho had on hand. lie had no insurance on the dwell- 1 0 ing or household effects.
