State of South Carolina,
County of Newberry.
Notice i< hereby ci\'jm that the
General Election for rlejivscntaiivos
in Congress will be held at the voting
precincts fixed by law in the County
1 of Newberry on Tuesday, November
* 1922, said day being1 Tuesday following'
the iirst .Monday, as proscribed
by the State Constitution.
The oualificatiins lor suffrage are
* Residence in state for two years, in
tne county lor one year, in the poll
ing precinct in which the elector offers
to vote, four months, and the
the payment six months before any
? election of any poll tax then due and
payable. Provided, That ministers
in charge of an organized church and
* teachers of public schools shall be en1
titled to vote after six months' residence
in the state, otherwise quakRegistratior..?Payment
taxes, including poll tax assessed and
collectible during the previous year.
The production of a certificate or the
receipt of the officer authorized to
collect such taxes shall be conclusive,
proof of the payment thereof.
Before the hour fixed foi* opening

take and subscribe to the Constitutional
oath. The chairman of the
Board of Managers can administer
the oath to the other managers and
to the clerk; a notary public must!
administer the oath to the chairman, j
The managers elect their chairman
and clerk. j
Polls at each voting place must be
^ opened at 7 o'clock a/.m., and closed,
at 4 o'clock p. m., except in the city;
of Charleston, where they shall be
opened at 7 a. m. and closed at G p.

The managers have the power to
fill a vacancy; and if none of rhe j
managers attend, the. citizens can ap-1
point from among the qualified voters!
