The Stuart Monument Association
of Richmond, Va., has purchased the
granite shaft with which to mark the
spot, near Yellow Tavern, where Gen.
J. E. B. Stuart fell mortally wounded,
on May 11, 1864, while repelling an

inscription to be put on the shaft ha,
