Death of Mr. John O'Neill.
Mr. John O'Neill, of late years a well
known merchant of this city, died at his
residence here on Wednesday night... He
had been for years an employee of the
South Carolina Railway Company. He
was a man who, during a long life, had
made a multitude of friends. He was
very popular and died regretted both by
those who knew him intimately and those
with whom he had business relations. He
was one of the original founder of the St.
Patrick's Benevolent Society.
Branch 152 of the Catholic Knights of
America adjourned last night during an
important session when the news of the
death of Mr. O'Neill was announced. The
information was conveyed by Dr. Dennis
Kennedy in the most feeling terms.-News
and Courier, Nov. 30.
