India's Wheat Crop.
Advices from India indicate that
there are 83,040,000 acres under wheat
cultivation in that country, compared
with 80,143,000 acres last year, or an
increase of about 10 per cent. The
total yield is estimated at 10,160,000
tons for this year, as against 8,518,000
tons reported at this time for last year,
a gain' of liractically 19 per cent.
These ilgures are based on the final re
ports on the wheat crop received from
local authorities and relate to 08.5 per
cent of the total wheat area in India.
The figures covering both area and
yield are the highest on record.
