Washington, Dec. 31.-President
Wilson today had his first pay day
outside of the ilmits of the United
States and the treasury warrant for
$6,250 drawn to his credit probably
was the first presidential pay-check
ever endorsed by any one other than
the chief executive. When the Pres
ident left the country he designated
N. P. Webster, disbursing clerk at the
White Iouse, as his "attorney in
fact," and Mr. Webster today received
the warrant, endorsed it with Mr.
Wilson's name, then signed his own as
attorney and deposited the warrant
in the bank to the President's credit.

OW DOCTORS TREAT
COLDS AND GRIPPE
Ask any physician. or druggists and
e will tell you that the best and only
fective remedy for a bad cold, sore
iroat, influenza or la grippe is what
e calls "a brisk calomel purge,"
ihich means a big (lose of calomel
t bed time. But as the old style cailo
al has some very unpleasant and
langerous qualities physicians and
Iruggists are now recommending the
mproved nauseless calomel, called
'Calotabs" which is purified and re
ined from the sickening and danger
mus effects and whose medicinal vir
ues are vastly improved.
One Calotab on the tongue at bed
ime with a swallow of water,-that's
ill. No salts, no nausea nor the
lightest interference with your diet,
pleasures or work. Next morning
your cold has vanished and your en
ire system is purified and refreshed.
Calotabs are sold only in original
scaled packages, price thirty-five
cents. Your druggist guarantees
Calotabs by refunding the price if
you are not ,delighted.--adv.
