In the present wave of commercial pessimism in the United
States two things are necessary to protect the price of cotton:
r F1KsT : Drastic curtailment of acreage efficiently organized
in each county and militia district.
SECOND: Holding the balance of this crop until the demand
from Foreign and American spinners improves.
We have noted with great interest the lead that South Caro
lina has taken on both propositions.
We have in Augusta, Ga., the largest and finest bonded ware
houses in the South. We offer our services to the Bankers, Mer
chants and Farmers to store and finance their spot cotton.
