Covention Taft Forces
Have Things Their
Own Way
The Republican State Convention
was organized at noon yesterday at
Louisville.
A summary ol the various districts
shows that the supporters of President
Taft easily predominate and that the
delegate8-at-largoswill be instructed to
vote lor the Chief Executive nt the Na
tional Convention in Chicago.
Seven out of the eleven Kentucky
districts are overwhelmingly for Taft,
while in the Tenth tbe delegates are
evenly divided. In the Eighth con
tests are to be settled, but even should
they he decided against tho Taft fol
lowers they still will retain control of
tho convention.
The total vote in the Stale Conven
tion is 2,350.
At tho meeting of tbo Republican
State Central Committee a-temporary
organization was effected.
Senator William 0. Bradley was
elected Tomporary Chairman ot the
convention and Samuel J. Roberts
Temporary Secretary.
When tbo convention was called to
order it was plainly evident that the
Tait forces outnumbered the Roose
velt men four to ono.

streots, Fifth War"d, city of Maysville, Ky.. on
