Mrs. Dan H. Breck was hostess at
a beautiful dinner party Saturday.
The table was beautifully decorated
with cut glass and silver and the din
ner was served in seven courses Those
who enjoyed the hospitality of the
charming hostess were: Mrs. R. L.
Telford, of Richmond, and sister,
Mrs. Pearsall, of Wilmington, N. C,
the guests of honor, and Medames
Neale Bennett, C. S. Holton, W. H.
Grider, Waller Bennett, Harry M.
Blanton, C D. Pattie, E. T. Burnam,
Lewis Neale and R. C. Stockton.
Bridge Party.
Mrs. R. C Boggs entertained at the
Colyer Flats, Friday afternoon, with
six tables of Bridge, in honor of Mrs.
Sydney Taylor, of Savannah, Ga., and
Miss Gertrude Smoot, of Paris, the
guest of Mrs. Wm. Howard. The
rooms were artistically decorated
with Hallowe'en emblems, and a de
licious salad course was served. The
prize for the highest score was won
by Miss Mollie Fife. Each of the
guests were presented with a box of
handkerchiefs.

The Sherwood Club was entertain
ed on Monday afternoon by Miss
Marie Louise Deatherage. The pro-

Miss Thelma Baker has just return
ed to Burksville after a visit to Mrs.
Murison Dunn.
Mr. Frank Jennings, of Jackson
ville, Fla., is the guest of his sister-in-law,
Mrs. J. W. Caperton here.
Miss Ella May Saunders, of Stan
ford, has been the guest of Mr. and
Mrs. Bland Ballard, on Broadway, for
several days.
Mr. Walter Traynor and Mrs. Tray
nor, of Lexington, and Miss Ella Mae
Saunders, of Stanford, are with Mrs.
Bland Ballard on Broadway.
Mr. and Mrs. Stuart Towe and baby
daughter, of Knoxville, are guests of
her uncle, Judge J. A. Sullivan. Mr.
Towe is city editor of the Knoxville
Sentinel and one of the best known
newspapermen in East Tennessee.
Mrs. Harry B. Hanger returned
home Sunday, after spending a week
with CoL Hanger at the Seelbach in
Louisville. Mrs. Hanger will leave
this week for a two weeks ' stay at
at French lick.
Invitations are out for the ap
proaching marriage of Miss Dorothy
Duncan, of Nicholasville, to Mr. Tor-
ler iana, 01 lexington, on Novem
ber 8th. Miss Duncan is well known
here being a frequent visitor of Miss
Elizabeth Turley.
Mr. B. B. Million and Mrs. Million
and daughter. Miss Hattie Lee Mil
lion and Mrs. Cecil Thorpe, and son,
all cf Lexington, returned home Mon
day after a week's visit with rela
tives here. This delightful family are
always cordially welcomed back to
their home where they number their
friends by their acquaintances.
Mrs. James Bennett and Miss Lau
ra Clay are in Louisville this week to
attend a board meeting of the Ken
tucky Equal Rights Association to be
held at the Seelbach.
Mrs. Mollie Chenault returned Sat
urday from a pleasant visit to her
granddaughter, Mrs. Dualap Blanton.
