for the Thirteenth Circuit Court Dis
trict of Kentucky met pursuant to
the call of Chairman GLPennYat p

Mercer and Boyle were present in per
son and the member from Garrard was 1
present by proxy held by Chairman J I
C Bonta of Mercer which proxy was J
duly accepted by the Committee
Said meeting was called to order by
Chairman Penny On motion Che
nault Huguely was duy nominated and i
elected Secretary of said Committee
The following resolutions were then
duly offered seconded and unanimous
ly
1 A primary election is hereby
called to be held in the several voting
precincts of the Thirteenth Circuit
Court District of Kentucky consisting
of the counties of Lincoln Boyle Gar
rard and Mercer between the hours of
six A M and four P M standard
time on Saturday March 4 1911 for
the purpose of nominating a Demo
cratic candidate for the office of Judge
of the Thirteenth Circuit Court dis
trict of Kentucky to be voted for at
the special election to be held on the
first Tuesday after the first Monday

in November 1911 to fill the unex
pired term of said office caused by the
death of Judge M C Saufley
2 All Democrats who are legal vo
ters shall be entitled to vote in said
primary election and are requested t o

3 Any person desiring to become a
candidate for the Democratic nomina
tion for said office shall not later
than Saturday February 18 1911 give
notice of bis intention so to do in
writing to G L Penny Chairman of
the District Committee of the Thir
teenth CircuitCourt District and in
addition shall at the time of giving
such notice deposit with said chair
man the sum of 80000 and no person
failing so to do shall be permitted to
become or to be a candidate at said
election
4 Said District Committee will
meet at the office of its Secretary in
Danville Kentucky on Monday Feb
ruary 20 1911 at two F M standard
time and if at tbe exphation of the
time fixed by Section 3 hereof there
be not more than one candidate for
said office who has complied with the
condidions of Section 3 then the com
mittee shall resolve itself into a nomi
nating convention and shall declare
such person to be the nominee for the
office and shall refund to such candi
date tbe amount deposited by him less
the costs then accrued for advertising
and preparing for said election

I 5 The polls shall be opened in each
and every voting precinct of all the
counties in the district aforesaid in
the regular voting places
6 Upon the closing of the polls
the officers shall proceed to count the

ballots and to make return and in so

the retuns shall be made to the chair
man of the respective counties in the
District who will deliver the stub
books the certificates and any questioned
tioned ballots to the Secretary of this
Committee
7 The officers of elections shall be
selected by this Committee from the

candidates in accordance with the pro
visions of the primary election law roed
8 Each candidate shall be entitled

to designate by a written notice to
the chairman of each county commit
tee in the District not less than five
days prior toMarch 4 1911 the name

in said county to act as challenger and
inspector for said candidate at said

9 The Committee shall meet at tifq

its Secretary in Danville Kentucky
on the next day after tbe returns shall
have been made and canvass the vote
cast at said election and issue a cer

10 The chairman of the Distrl t

competent person to copy from the
regular registration books made for
tbe cities of Danville and Harrods
burg for the 1910 election the names
of all Democrats and the person so
employed shall return the copies sof
tified as required by law to said Chair
