This is the Postive Announcement
of The Breckenridge Fair As
sociation Ab Their De <
v termination For The
Agricultural Live
S
v Stock Show
WANTS CITIZENS INTEREST
INTERESTI I i
After three years of experience in
conducting what can easily be made
the leading annual County Livestock
and Agricultural Exposition of Ken
tncky the management of the Breck
enridge Fair Association convinced of
the weight of their argument and the
soundness of the principle yields to
the demand of a large majority of the
Fairs patrons that gambling in any
form be hereafter prohibited on the
Associations grounds While practi
cally every county fair in the State
permits some of these games to run
and while the shows obtainable are
not of the highest class yet we feel that
we can absolutely prohibit gambling
and can obtain good interesting and
instructive amusements for all There
fore the management hereby pledges
itself to an effort to eradicate anyand I
all things which may have heretofore
existed that were objectionable im
proper or immoral In any way
It is is our desire and purpose to en
courage every citizen of Breckenridgo
county to display some product at the
Fair and to lend to us his good will
and helpful influence A little retro
spective thinking Upon the mind of
any fair man the inestimable benefits
that our Fair has been to the liv sock
and agricultural interests of our county
aside from the social pleasures and
good results of social intercourse eI I
would make our Fair an annual home
coming and family and neighborhood
reunion make it a happyand helpful I
meeting place for the exchange of
pleasant and profitable ideas
We propose to exert ourselves to the
limit of our capacities and means to
put up the biggest and best agricul
tural show ever held in the county and
there will be plenty of wholesome and
innocent entertainment for the young
and the old on the grounds We ask
that each citizen let his pride assert
itself in one great and united effort to
show to the outside world the classand
accomplishment of our citizenship
Respectfully

Awful Result
At an early hour Thursday morning
Mr I Henry Black met with an accident

at the time of the Incident was charging
a gas tank to his soda fountain Not

back 1 yard and the concussion was so
strong when the tank let go that he
was thrown five or six feet He was at

where he and Dr Heavrin dressed his
wounds It was found that Mr Black

One side of the air drum hit his stomach
and he is considerably bruised there
Many other wounds are noted about
his body but it is not believed that the

The wound on the wrist was sewed

the loss ot blood His escape is said to
have been miraculous
The explosion was heard nearly all
over town and was very strong It
blew the side of the house out where he
had the gas drum and the entire corner
of the street trembled when the ex

The waterworks trouble reached a
climax on Tuesday night when Mr W

This came after a meeting of the City

On Wednesday morning when it was
found that no one had water a great
deal of street discussion followed and
the Council was again called in special
session that evening to discuss the
question Mr Williams and many
citizens were before the body after a
great deal of wranglingan agreement
