was fined 27 50 On Wednesday
in same court John Roberts and
sons Charley Luther and Clarena
were tried and held over in the
sum of 25000 each excepting
Clarena Roberts awaiting the
action of the Grand Jury for
assaulting Oscar Spoonamore last
Saturday It seems that on last
Friday Clarena Roberts who is 12
years old was trying to get two
children of Arch Browns to fight
when Spoonamore interfered caus
ing the Roberts boy to use some
very ugly talk whereupon Spoona
more threatened to paddle him if
YoungRoberts
Roberts tan home and told his
parents that Spoonamore attempted
to whip him This irritated the
father and two brothels so much
that on Saturday they all fell upoi
Spoonamore but were beaten off
One of the boys used a knife cat =
ting two ugly gashes in Scoona
moors back and otherwise bruised
him up considerably County At
torney Sam Lewis came down and
prosecuted and C C Williams de
fended the case
