A Runaway
On Sunday afternoon Hisses Lena
Tipton and Minnie Horton entered a
sleigh to which was hitched ono of
those horses safo for a lady to drive
expecting to enjoy a pleasant 6leigh
ride When on North Maysvillo
street nearly opposite Col Thos John
sons residence tho horse took fright
from no known cause so far as the
ladies could sec and began running
atthe same timo trying his best to
kick the sleigh to ph coe Miss Horton
oithor attempted to jump out or was
partially pitched out of thesleigli Her
dress caught on some nails of the
broken dashboard and kept her from
getting losse so she hud to cling to the
tide of the sleigh to hoop her head oil
the ground It was a frightful sight
to seo one young and beautiful girl
clinging to the side of tho sleigh and
another palo and helpless 1 ing within
it while the frijjlitonud horse tore
down tho side walk barely missing
ponce trees and etc on the one side and
fences and stone walls ou the other
Not till tho frightened animal had
reached Harper Livory Stablo could
he be stopped in his mad rush Miss
Horton was li ted from her perilous
position and it was tound had escaped
with a slightly sprained ankle and a
fow bruises Mjss Tipton was less
fortunate it was found tho frightened
animal had kicked her on the knee
and fractured the knee cap Miss
Tiptons hurt is very painful but her
many friends are very thauful that
she came off us well as she did

radius of his life but retain in their
