THE BOURBON NEVS FRIDAY JVtAROH 19 1897
Amusing Gambling
One of our beloved lady friends
church member too became greatly
interested in the Corbett Fitzsimmons
fight Because of her innate love of
Americans and trong manhood physical
and intellectual and her own judgment
she concluded that Corbett was the
superierof Fitzsimmons and on the
morning of St Patricks day she pro
posed to her son-in-law to bet a basket
of eggs six dozen against fifty cents
that Corbett would whip Fitzsimmons
Of course Mrs was much inter
ested in the fight However she lost
the bet and has paid the debt of honor
The question now is Is this little bet
a sin Oronly an amusing wager of
opinion on the result of the great prize
fLjht Bro will have to answer
this as both the bettors are among his
best members
Or is it a et at all Or would it be
best for Sister and Bro to
apologize and sin no more
