The Millersburg fire department has
been reinforced by the addition of a
splendid hand engine Mayor Yerkes
and the Paris City Council having
courteously loaned to the town of
Millersburg their engine Rescue
This engine is in good shape and will
throw as much water as a steamer
having been displaced by a steamer in
the interest of quick service only The
Rescue was brought down and
as soon as a few hundred feet of hose
is added to the local department the
Burg can boast of a department equal
to any town of its class Additional
cisterns are also talked of
Excursion to Old Point Comfort
On Thursday July 22dthe Chesapeake
and Ohio Railroad will run its annual
Excursion to Old Point Comfort Va
leaving Lexington at 1125 a m and
reaching Old Point at noon next day
Only 1100 will be charged for the round
trip and tickets will be good to return
until August 8th Stop overs will be al
lowed at any station on return trip so
that our patrons may break the home
ward trip by stopping at any of the
beautiful mountain resorts Jjalong the
line
Sleeping car rates will be 350 per
double berth which will accommodate
two persons No other bummer trip
offers such a diversion and variety of
pleasnres as a trip to Old Point over
the Chesapeake and Ohio Ry with its
Mountains Valleys Rivers and Ocean
Special rates of 250 per day at the
Chamberlain and Hygeia hotels
