April 29 in the famous oration of the bril

Jonrnal In his interesting way he traces
the demoralizing influence of the vast for
tunes on the morals of this country Mr
Watterson is a typical figure before the
American puDiic oi to uay ana no man nas
more strongly impressed his personality
upon his public work His came is
familiar from end lo end of the Union and
added to the keen whet of curiosity is the
general report that his lecture on Money

humor aud imagination in lure proportions
He lias never been heard in Fort Worth
and tho fact that his talk has been received
with unbounded delight and indorsement
by evey audience which has heard it fore

How do you like Texas
This is my first vLsit to Texas and
what I have seen of it you know
you cannot see Texas in a dav or two

to San Autouio and then here We leave

-What about free and unlimited coinage
f silver
It will be considered among the first
things at the next session of congicss and
will pass Iu the house we will have
a twa thirds majority and po siblj also in
the senate I hope to see the Texas delega
tion suport the measure as they have done
before Lately our administration
has not been favorable to the
measure but it is no more hostile to it
than was Mr Cleveland
-Do jou think the Democrats will nomi
nal e Cleveland
I am not advised as to that but I should
think it would be foolish for them to do so
in the light of his defeat in the last cam

What is the amount of stiver produced

ounces per aumini seldom the latter
amount The United States could J
vvell use all this silver for moue
No large amount of outside
silver would come in for to coin it here
there would be a loss of three cents on the
dollar One mistake made by the oppo
nents of unlimited coinage is that
the think the governments of other
countries hold the silver This is uot tho
ca e It is generally held bv individuals
1 am decidedly of the opinion that
the free and unlimited coinage
of silver would bring ieat prosperity to
this country This silver question is
more important than the tariff All the sil
yer men ask is to reverse the legislation
of 1673 and go back to our normal condition
The change was not brought about by rea
son of any over production but by hostile
legislation It is no experiment that it is
asked wo know the result All the world
is suffering from the demonetization of sil

If the United States would make the
change it would bring tho others to it
We are tho leading nation of the vvoiW

You opposed the force bill I believe 3
Yes I opposed the election bill 1 tlfel
so because oi tne principle involved not
cause of any trade for silver legislation
