THE attention of consumer of Wnit Lead is ca'led to
the fact that a large portion of tint article ground In
oil Is now put op In keg purporting to contain 25 and fai
pounds each, whereas il ere is no allowan -e made for the
weight of the kegs, and the coi suraer is defrauded to that
amount. The deception can easily be detected by weighing
the different manufacturers' brands offered f r sale.
During the past year we have made extensive additions
to ur buildinrs, machinery and stock, for the manufacture
of large quantities of White Lead, to enable as to supply th
demand lor our article. We ruaranty all Lead bearing our
brand to be strictly pore, at d entirely free from any adul
teration whatever, and not exceeded for fineness and white
ness by any mad In the United Mate.
Our lrad ground in oil, is put up in iron bound keg of Vf,
5, 100, 8'"0. 80O and 6tH) pound each, and every keg con
taining the qusnti'y of lead which it puroorts accurals
tare being allowed for the packages.
It i a w.'ll known fact that the variou qualities of lead
branded "Extra" No 1 and No. 4, are largely adulterated
with substitutes which are not calculated to answer the
same purpose. And there are manufacturer claiming re-
pctability for themselves, snd public confidence in their
article, who brand th. ir kogsj ith their own name as
' Pure White Lead," although they never turn out a keg
without a considerable adu'terat on of Bsryres.
