THB attention cf consume'S of White Lead is called to
1. the fact that a large portion ef thit article ground in
oil is now put npin kegs purporting to contain 23 and
pounds each, whereas tl ere ia no allowance made for the
weight of the keg, and the consumer is defrauded to that
amount. The deception can easily be detected by weighing
the different manufacturers' brands offered f r sale.
During the past year we have made extensive addit'pns
to our buildinrs, machinery and stock, for the manufacture
of large quantities of White Lead, to enable us to supply the
demand lor our article. We guaranty all Lend bearing onr
brand to be strictlj pure, ti.d entirely free from soy adul
teration whatever, and not exceeded for fineness and white
ness by any made in the Cuited States.
Onr lead ground in oil, is pnt up in iron bound kegs of S
iV, 100, Joo"!) and 5H) pounds each, and every keg con
taining the quan:i'y of lead which it puroorta accurate
tare being allowed for the packages.
It is a w.ll known fact thit the various, otaliites of leaJ
! branded "Extra' No 1 an! No. 5, are largely adulterated
I with substitutes which are not calculated to answer the
I same pu pose. And there arc manufacturers claiming re
! sprcubihty for themselves , and public confidence in their
article, who brand thi ir keg ith tneir own names aj
'Pure White Lead," although they never turn out a keg
without a considerable adulteration of Parries.
