HILDA FOSS SUDDEN ENDING OF YOUNG LIFE A fatal accident that shocked the entire community occurred shortly be fore noon on Saturday last. Fred Trum bore of this city, aged 17 years and son of H. L. Trumbore, the well known plumber employed by Lowe, had gone target shooting with his cousin, Miss Amanda Garis of Philadelphia, aged about 19 years. The young people went in the direction of Hungry Joe, and a short distance out young Trum bore proceeded to erect a target. As he was passing in front of the young lady her finger slipped from the ham mer of the 22 caliber Winchester which she was carrying, and the gun was dis charged, the bullet striking the boy above the right eye and penetrating the brain. The young lady ran back and secured help to carry the bleeding form of the boy to his home, but the latter never regained consciousness, and passed away a short time after noon. No inquest was held it not being deemed necessary from the evidence adduced. The funeral services were held from the Methodist church on Tuesday afternoon. A large crowd of friends was in attendance, as well as the schoolmates of the deceased from the eighth grade of the public schools and members of the Woodmen lodge, of which Mr. Trumbore is a member. Rev. Leland conducted the services and paid eloquent tribute to the young man whose life was thus so suddenly snuffed out. Music was rendered by a quartet consisting of Chas. Banker, Ray Met calf, Mrs. Haskell and Mrs. LaRue, with Mrs. Banker at the organ. What makes the accident particul arly sad is that Miss Garis had been here but a few days on a visit. She has been practically prostrated by the occurrence. ADVERTISED LETTERS Following is a list of letters re maining uncalled for at the Glendive postoffice on Dec. 24, 1908. J. A. Black.
