Tlio greater part of last Monday afternoon we
spent at Zaloskl. The village was alive aa it is
at all times, notwithstanding the extremely
warm weathor tho thormometer marking 91 in

Second street. In tho .absence of the landlord,
Mrs. Mary Shipley, who has few equal as a
landlady, has charge of the House. Be sure and

We called at the office of J. T. Black, one of
the J nstices of the Peace of tho Township. The
business of the office compels him to open Court
almost daily.
Wesliy Rkdmbu, Railroad Agent and Tele
graph operator. for the town, resigned on tho
81st day of July and John F. Sands, who for
merly filled the position, was appointed In bit
place, taking charge of the office on the 1st of
this month. Mr. ReddlBh is now Agent at
Scott's Lauding.
Mr. F. Shadkh, of tho Steam Flouring Mills,
is doing a large business In tho manufacture of
flour, meal, etc. He Informed us that he has al
ready made a large quantity of flour of new
wheat. The farmers are bringing in their new
wheat, and he has received two car loads of
choice new wheat which he will make into ex-
cellent flour for his numerous customer.
At the depot we met G. W. Tinkham, propri
etor of tho Saddle and Harness Shop, who was
on his way to Lancaster, Ohio.
In the evening William Bacghman, of the
Baughman House, started for Kentucky, by way
of Hamden and Portsmouth, and will be absent
three or four days.
T(ie inhabitants of the vlllago are greatly an
noyed by the potato bugs, which have eaten up
all tho potato vines and dug the potatoes, and
are now traveling about the streets trying to
engage somebody to move them away.
