Hart by a majority of nine votes, one more vote than that indi cated by the tabulation made by the parish committee. Testimony during the trial before Judge Fred A. Middle ton this week showed that the official ballots from the Secretary of State, intended for use in this primary, did not reach St. John parish un til 9:30 a. m., on the day of the primary three and one= half hours after the polls had opened. The parish committee had provided ballots when it was fºound the day beiore the pri mary that the official ballots had not reached the chairman of the parish committee. This was the principal ground for the contest instituted by Mr. Hart to prevent Judge Pi cou's name from going on the official ballot. There were several contest ed ballots but no evidence of fraud' came out during the Strial, which terminated at Ed gard Courthouse Friday at munidnight. Arguments will be heard to iay beginning at 10 a. m., at the Gretna Courthouse. A decision will most probably be handed'down by Judge F. A. Middleton late to-day. Mr. Picou is represented by Attorneys Dart and Reynaud wjt Atiw neys Gautier and uchIer reprefent Mr. Hart. EO-. 9tk, 1920.
